The Delhi Police have refuted reports suggesting that Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), was detained or arrested amid protests near Parliament. Initially, a CJP spokesperson claimed that Dipke had been taken into custody during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ demonstration. However, the police clarified that these allegations were false and that Dipke was present at the protest site. Following this, the CJP spokesperson confirmed that Dipke had not been detained or arrested.
Tensions escalated in Delhi as the CJP and its supporters participated in the “Sansad Chalo” protest, demanding accountability from the government regarding the NEET-UG paper leak case. During the protest, when demonstrators tried to move towards Parliament House, they encountered a light police presence deployed to maintain order. CJP representatives presented their demands to Union Minister J.P. Nadda, who assured them that the issues raised would be discussed internally.
The protest aimed at urging the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak and other examination-related irregularities, including those in the 12th CBSE Board exams. The situation at Jantar Mantar turned tense as clashes erupted between police and protesters, with security forces preventing them from breaching barricades.
