The Delhi Police are ramping up their investigation into the recent violence in central Delhi during a protest organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). They are heavily relying on over 250 videos, including mobile recordings, CCTV footage, drone visuals, and police body-worn camera footage to identify the individuals involved in the unrest. Authorities are scrutinizing the video material to pinpoint the alleged miscreants who took part in the protests and subsequent acts of vandalism.
Investigators are also looking into whether the individuals behind Monday’s violence at Jantar Mantar had a pre-planned strategy or if the events unfolded spontaneously. The probe is focusing on determining if those involved in stone-pelting, vandalism, and attacks on police and official vehicles during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ were acting in a coordinated manner. Additionally, the investigation is exploring the possibility of mobilization or incitement through messaging platforms like WhatsApp or Telegram before the outbreak of violence.
The Delhi Police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Connaught Place police station regarding the commotion and vandalism in the area. The case has been filed against unidentified persons as efforts continue to identify those responsible. Authorities mentioned that miscreants vandalized police vehicles and threw stones at a police team near Regal Cinema on the Outer Circle of Connaught Place during the unrest. Further investigation is ongoing to establish the sequence of events and identify the culprits.
