Delhi Police have filed five FIRs related to the violent clashes between Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) supporters and security officials in the National Capital. The clashes occurred as CJP supporters and students marched from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan due to examination irregularities, including NEET-UG paper leaks. FIRs have been lodged at Connaught Place, Parliament Street police stations, and other nearby stations. More FIRs are anticipated in the affected areas as investigations continue.

Efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators using video evidence. Investigators are scrutinizing over 250 videos, including mobile recordings, CCTV footage, drone visuals, and police body camera footage to identify those responsible for the violence. Over 118 police personnel from Delhi Police and Central Police Forces sustained injuries during the protests in the capital. Among the injured are senior officers like Special Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner who were on duty at the protest site, as per Delhi Police reports.

The situation turned violent when protesters tried to breach the barricades, resulting in significant injuries to over 118 police personnel. Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar visited the injured officers at the hospital, personally checking on their well-being and providing motivation. He praised the officers’ dedication, stating, “Every injury on the uniform signifies dedication to duty.” The protests, which commenced at Jantar Mantar, attracted students, opposition figures, and activists advocating for accountability in the education system. Senior police officials have pledged a thorough investigation into the unrest.

Prohibitory orders are in effect in sensitive areas to prevent further escalation. Delhi Police have called for calm and urged all parties to cooperate with law enforcement to maintain peace. Amid ongoing political and student demonstrations, the focus remains on ensuring public safety, as emphasized by the police.
