Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu commended Delhi Police for their technology-driven policing efforts, returning over 12,600 phones to their rightful owners after recovering them from thieves and snatchers. Sandhu praised the success rate of 74% in recovering around 16,000 devices this year, highlighting the effectiveness of technology in law enforcement.
Operation Vishwas, a Delhi Police initiative to trace and return lost or stolen mobile phones, received accolades from Sandhu for its impact on reducing crime. He emphasized the importance of community involvement and police dedication in achieving such results, emphasizing the collaborative effort between citizens, law enforcement, and media for effective policing.
Sandhu underscored the global outlook of Delhi’s policing, recognizing India’s leadership in technology-driven governance. He lauded the efforts of Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and highlighted specialized operations targeting narcotics, cybercrime, street crime, and illegal weapons, enhancing overall crime control measures. Sandhu expressed confidence in Delhi Police’s commitment to adopting new technologies, improving service delivery, and ensuring the safety and responsiveness of the city for all residents.
The Lieutenant Governor also shared the happiness of phone owners on social media who had their stolen devices returned to them.
