The Rampur District Administration’s demolition notice to Jauhar University has drawn criticism from the AIMIM, alleging collusion between the ruling BJP and Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party. AIMIM spokesperson Shadab Chauhan accused Akhilesh Yadav of cooperating with the BJP in destroying the university, claiming it was timed to coincide with his foreign trip to avoid accountability.
Chauhan further accused Akhilesh Yadav of neglecting minority issues and using the Muslim community as a mere “vote bank.” He highlighted the lack of support from the SP leader during minority-related incidents, stating that the party has failed to advocate for minority rights despite its significant political representation.
The controversy surrounding Rampur’s Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University intensified after the Rampur district administration issued a demolition order for unauthorized structures. The AIMIM criticized the move as an attack on the minority community and questioned the authorities’ silence on those responsible for the construction without approved plans.
The AIMIM spokesperson raised concerns about the government’s motives behind targeting existing minority educational institutions while failing to establish new ones. He questioned the alignment of these actions with the government’s ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’ (inclusive development for all) agenda, alleging a coordinated effort between the BJP and Akhilesh Yadav to dismantle the university.
