The film ‘Kara’, directed by Vignesh Raja and starring Dhanush, is set to hit screens globally on April 30 this year. The announcement was made by Ishari K Ganesh, the head of Vels Film International, the production house behind the movie. Ishari K Ganesh revealed this news during the VELS University cultural festival, VELS Nakshatra 2026.
The film, previously referred to as #D54, features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. Alongside Dhanush and Mamitha Baiju, the movie includes prominent actors like K S Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Prithvi Pandiraj in key roles. The technical team comprises renowned professionals, with cinematography by Theni Eswar, editing by Sreejith Sarang, and music by National Award winner G V Prakash.
Notably, the storyline of ‘Kara’ is a collaboration between writer Alfred Prakash and director Vignesh Raja, known for their successful thriller ‘Por Thozhil’. Alfred Prakash mentioned in an interview that their writing partnership enhances the storytelling process. The duo believes that crafting a narrative together allows for better idea exploration and refinement.
