Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as the Union Education Minister amidst nationwide paper leak protests. In his resignation, Pradhan emphasized his dedication to youth and education, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support. The resignation was framed as a move to safeguard exam integrity and the future of students.

The resignation comes in the wake of protests demanding action against paper leaks and exam irregularities. Pradhan, in a letter, highlighted his longstanding commitment to students, teachers, and educational reforms. He stressed the importance of a strong, inclusive education system for national development.

Pradhan acknowledged the aspirations of the country’s youth and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He mentioned the irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, leading to its cancellation and the initiation of a CBI investigation. The exam will now be conducted in Computer-Based Test mode from the following year.

Pradhan underscored the collaborative efforts of the government, state governments, and district administrations in ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination for over 20 lakh students. He took responsibility for the situation, vowing to protect students from any injustices caused by the ‘exam mafia’. Pradhan also expressed distress over attempts to mislead students during the re-examination results.

In light of recent events and to prevent any exploitation by anti-national forces, Pradhan submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister. He thanked the Prime Minister for his guidance and support and expressed his unwavering commitment to serving the nation and fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
