Diamond Harbour FC secured their inaugural Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 win by defeating Dempo SC 2-1 at Kalyani Stadium. Antonio Moyano scored first for the home team in added time of the initial half. Marcus Joseph equalized in the second half, and Hugo Díaz’s goal in the 70th minute sealed Diamond Harbour’s victory.
Diamond Harbour’s head coach Kibu Vicuña made two changes to the starting lineup, introducing Hugo Díaz and Halicharan Narzary. Dempo SC’s manager, Samir Subash Naik, made three alterations to his team, starting Jose Luis Moreno Pena, Amay Morajkar, and Knerkitalang Buam.
Despite a few early chances for Dempo, Diamond Harbour controlled the game, dominating possession in the first half. The breakthrough came just before halftime when Antonio Moyano scored a spectacular goal, giving Diamond Harbour a 1-0 lead.
The second half saw both teams pushing for goals. Marcus Leric Jr Joseph equalized for Dempo in the 55th minute. A strategic substitution by Coach Vicuña led to Hugo Diaz Rodriguez’s decisive goal in the 70th minute, securing Diamond Harbour’s victory.
Dempo came close to equalizing again but hit the crossbar. Despite intense pressure in extra time, Diamond Harbour defended well to claim a historic 2-1 win.
