Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Sandeep Wazir led a high-level meeting in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri-Poonch range to discuss security, cybercrime, and modern policing. The meeting, held at the District Police Office in Poonch, included various officers from the district, focusing on security assessments and operational strategies. Presentations were made on crime prevention, counter-terrorism, cybercrime investigation, and community policing initiatives.

The discussions highlighted the importance of professional competence, law enforcement effectiveness, and public engagement in policing efforts. The meeting also assessed the progress of anti-drug operations under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.” Emphasis was placed on combating drug trafficking, raising awareness about substance abuse, and enhancing coordination among law enforcement agencies.

DIG Sandeep Wazir stressed the significance of professionalism, discipline, and technology in policing, urging officers to address security challenges and cyber-related offenses proactively. He called for improved coordination among police units and security agencies to bolster the district’s security framework. The meeting concluded with a focus on field-level policing, intelligence coordination, and responsive policing mechanisms in District Poonch.
