West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh commented on the ongoing investigation into Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee’s alleged fake signature case. Banerjee faced questioning by the West Bengal CID regarding the forgery of MLA signatures supporting the Leader of Opposition nomination.
The controversy arose when expelled Trinamool Congress MLAs raised concerns about fabricated signatures on a resolution supporting Sovandeb Chattopadhyay. Banerjee, granted interim protection by the Calcutta High Court, cooperated with the state investigation.
Dilip Ghosh criticized the electoral practices in Diamond Harbour, alleging a history of fake voters and manipulated voting processes. He called for a thorough inquiry into the involvement of doctors and the use of fake certificates in the case.
Ghosh also addressed the possibility of the NCP joining the NDA and emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development efforts. He condemned the recent AK-47 firing incident in Bihar and praised India’s progress in international sporting events, citing the government’s initiatives for athlete development.
