Director David Frankel expressed his desire to include a surprise cameo by Adrian Grenier in the much-anticipated sequel, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2.’ However, due to timing constraints in the production schedule, this plan could not materialize. Frankel did not disclose how he intended to integrate Grenier’s character, Nate, into the sequel that reunites Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.
Fans have previously criticized Nate’s behavior towards Andy in the first film, expressing disappointment over his attitude towards her career in fashion. Grenier, acknowledging the absence of his character in the sequel, hinted at the possibility of a spinoff due to the backlash surrounding Nate. Despite not being part of the sequel, Grenier emphasized his admiration for the movie and its cast.
‘The Devil Wears Prada 2,’ set to premiere on May 1, brings back familiar faces such as Hathaway’s Andy, Streep’s Miranda Priestley, Blunt’s Emily Charlton, and Tucci’s Nigel Kipling. The storyline follows Andy’s return to Runway Magazine two decades after her dramatic exit in Paris, as she and Miranda strive to save the publication by securing advertising from Emily, now a prominent figure in the luxury brand industry.
