Television star Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya recently reflected on a crucial lesson her parents taught her in her upbringing. She mentioned how they encouraged her to handle injuries and pain independently rather than seeking immediate help. Divyanka disclosed in a YouTube vlog that her father taught her first aid at a young age, shaping her into a strong and self-sufficient individual.
Recounting her childhood experiences, Divyanka stated, “Whenever I got hurt, my parents didn’t make a fuss. My father taught me first aid early on. I would tend to my wounds, bandage myself, and handle everything. I even had significant injuries in Mumbai a couple of times without informing my parents.” These early teachings contributed to her emotional and mental fortitude, making her self-reliant.
Divyanka’s mother, Neelam Tripathi, who also appeared in the vlog, expressed her desire to instill the same values and resilience in her future grandchild as they did in Divyanka. Neelam emphasized the importance of fostering independence in children from the start to nurture strength. She explained, “We never treated Divyanka delicately. To raise a strong child, you must begin from day one.”
Neelam elaborated on her child-rearing philosophy, stating, “We will allow our grandchild to play freely and learn to solve their own problems. It’s essential to not always react emotionally to every situation. If the child falls, let them. They will recover on their own.” Divyanka, who is expecting her first child with husband Vivek Dahiya, shared the news in March on the occasion of Gudi Padwa through a joint social media post.
