A docu-film chronicling actor Ajith Kumar’s motorsport journey has been named ‘Gladiators’ and is set for a theatrical release soon. Directed by A L Vijay, the film was initially planned for a May 1 release to coincide with the actor’s birthday. Music director G V Prakash, handling the film’s music, shared a teaser video on social media, expressing excitement for the project.
Sources close to Ajith Kumar had confirmed last year that director A L Vijay would helm a documentary on the actor’s motorsport venture. The 90-minute film aims to inspire young individuals to pursue their aspirations and break barriers. Additionally, the project seeks to promote motorsport in India, challenging the perception that it is a sport reserved for the affluent.
The documentary captures not only Ajith Kumar’s races in Malaysia but also behind-the-scenes moments like strategy discussions and practice sessions. It will be presented in theaters in two parts, each lasting 45 minutes. Plans are also in place for an extended version on an OTT platform at a later date. Ajith Kumar, who was honored with the ‘Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025’ award in Venice, Italy, has been actively involved in international racing championships through his team, Ajith Kumar Racing.
