About 1.49 crore domestic LPG cylinders were delivered in the last three days, surpassing the bookings of around 1.40 crore cylinders. Despite supply chain disruptions due to the Middle East conflict, cooking gas supply for households in India remains stable, as per the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
No dry-outs have been reported from any LPG distributorship nationwide, ensuring uninterrupted supply. Online LPG cylinder bookings have surged to nearly 99%, with delivery authentication code (DAC) based deliveries increased to about 96% to prevent diversion at the distributor level.
Since March this year, approximately 9.42 lakh PNG connections have been gasified, with infrastructure set up for an additional 3.12 lakh connections, totaling 12.54 lakh connections. The government urges states and UTs to promote the migration of LPG consumers to PNG where network availability exists.
Adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available at all petrol pumps across the country, despite witnessing unusually high sales and crowding at retail outlets in specific regions. To shield consumers from rising crude prices due to the Middle East crisis, the Indian government has slashed excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per litre.
To curb hoarding and black marketing in petroleum products, oil PSUs are conducting surprise inspections, penalizing 19 LPG distributorships and 14 retail outlets. Additionally, 461 retail outlets have faced suspension for violating market discipline guidelines in the past three days.
Citizens are advised against panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG, emphasizing reliance on official sources for accurate information and discouraging rumors. LPG consumers are encouraged to utilize digital booking platforms and avoid unnecessary visits to distributors.
All refineries are functioning at full capacity with ample crude inventories, ensuring sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, and increased local LPG production to meet domestic demand.
