The popular earless robotic cat, Doraemon, is bringing his famous “anywhere door” to Indian theaters with the release of “Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil” on October 2.
This film promises an engaging underwater journey filled with themes of friendship, courage, and discovery, catering to audiences across the nation in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
Based on the original manga by FUJIKO F FUJIO, the creator of the Doraemon series, this movie continues the legacy of beloved characters and imaginative storytelling that has enchanted audiences worldwide for generations.
The theatrical release is a collaboration between TV Asahi and PVR INOX Pictures, India’s prominent theatrical distribution studio, with Black White Orange (BWO) overseeing fan engagement, consumer experience, and promotional activities, supported by Happening 365 Synergies for strategic counsel.
“We are thrilled to introduce Doraemon on the big screen in India after two decades. In this film, Doraemon and friends embark on a grand oceanic adventure, aiming to provide a special journey for children and fans of all ages,” expressed Maiko Sumida, Head of Animation Sales and Development at TV Asahi.
As part of a nationwide campaign, Doraemon will make a public appearance at CORE, India’s pop culture festival, organized by BWO on June 20 and 21, 2026, at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai.
The release in India will also include a fan engagement initiative led by Black White Orange (BWO), further enhancing the immersive experience for audiences nationwide.

Doraemon’s narrative centers on a robotic cat named Doraemon without ears, who time-travels from the 22nd century to aid a boy named Nobita Nobi in his daily life, spawning a media franchise that includes manga and anime adaptations.
