The DP World PGTI NexGen Phillaur Open 2026 is scheduled to take place from March 3 to 5 at the Ranjitgarh Golf Club in Phillaur. This tournament marks the second event of the 2026 DP World PGTI NexGen season. The prize money for this year’s event has been increased to INR 25 lakh.
The competition will span three rounds, totaling 54 holes, with the cut being implemented after the initial two rounds, covering 36 holes. The top-36 players and those with ties will advance to the final round. Among the 90 professionals participating in the tournament are local players Amit Kumar and Swatanter Kumar, both representing Phillaur.
In the previous event held in Faridabad, Abhishek Kumar from Panchkula emerged victorious, leading the 2026 DP World PGTI NexGen Order of Merit. The champion of this year’s DP World PGTI NexGen Order of Merit will secure a spot on the main tour (DP World PGTI) for the 2027 season.
R S Gill, the presenting partner for the event, expressed his support for the DP World PGTI NexGen Phillaur Open, emphasizing the significance of providing a platform for young professional golfers. Jaiveer Shergill, national spokesperson of the BJP, highlighted the tournament’s role in promoting local talent and fostering values such as discipline and healthy competition. Amandeep Johl, CEO of PGTI, commended the return of professional golf to Phillaur and acknowledged the support from Mr. R S Gill and the Ranjitgarh Golf Club.
