A DRDO employee based in Bengaluru was discovered hanging from a tree near his hometown in Ramgarh, Jharkhand. The deceased, identified as Kamal Kishore Mahto, had been on leave since April 19 and was residing with his family in Talatad Bhuiyan Tola. Family members revealed that Mahto had been battling severe mental stress and depression, along with insomnia, for some time.
Villagers reported seeing Mahto wandering alone in the area late at night, displaying unusual behavior. However, no one anticipated the tragic turn of events that followed. His relatives noticed his absence around 2 a.m., prompting a search effort throughout the night, hindered by darkness and the rugged terrain.
The search resumed the next morning with more villagers joining in, leading to the discovery of Mahto’s body hanging from a tree on a nearby hill. The shocking incident has deeply saddened the entire community. Mahto is survived by his wife and two young sons, aged six and four.
Upon receiving the news, authorities from the Patratu police station arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and conducted initial legal procedures before transferring it to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
