Continuing their crackdown on illegal activities, the Dwarka District Police uncovered a gambling racket in JJ Colony, Sector-3, Bindapur, leading to the arrest of 14 individuals involved. The police seized stake money totaling Rs 6,810 and various gambling-related items like writing pads, charts, satta slips, and electronic devices used for record-keeping. This operation is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to combat organized crimes such as gambling and bootlegging and ensure a safe environment for residents.
To enhance their fight against illegal activities, the Special Staff of Dwarka District intensified intelligence gathering, activated local informers, and increased surveillance in vulnerable areas. A specialized team, led by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar and supervised by ACP Operations Subhash Malik, was formed for this purpose. The team, including SI Dinesh Kumar, SI Topesh, ASI Vijay Singh, and several constables, focused on gathering intelligence and identifying locations where illegal activities were rampant.
Acting on specific information received on May 7, the police swiftly moved to the Sector-3 JJ Colony area of Bindapur around 10 p.m. The team observed a group engaged in gambling activities in a narrow lane and promptly conducted a raid, resulting in the apprehension of the 14 suspects. During the search, the police recovered stake money, charts, satta slips, writing pads, and other materials used for maintaining gambling records.
Following the raid, a case was registered under Sections 12/09/55 of the Gambling Act at Police Station Bindapur. All the arrested individuals, hailing from various areas in Dwarka, Uttam Nagar, Matiala, and nearby localities, were interrogated and taken into custody. The police seized cash, charts, pads, carbon papers, pens, and satta slips during the operation. Further investigations are ongoing to determine if the accused were part of a larger gambling network in the region.
The successful operation by the Dwarka District Police underscores their proactive approach in combating unlawful activities and upholding law and order in the national capital.
