Defending champions East Bengal FC secured a commanding 5-0 win over Nita Football Academy in the Indian Women’s League 2025-26, propelling them to the top spot at the Kalyani Stadium in West Bengal. The match, anticipated as a tough battle, saw East Bengal’s Sulanjana Raul and Soumya Guguloth scoring in the first half, followed by goals from Resty Nanziri and Fazila Ikwaput early in the second half. Priyangka Devi Naorem sealed the victory with a fifth goal in the 88th minute.

East Bengal’s flawless record of four wins in four matches catapulted them to the highest rank in the points table. Sethu FC, securing a 5-0 win over Sesa, closely trails in second place with 10 points from five games. Nita FA, also at 10 points, slipped to third place based on goal difference.

East Bengal continued their winning streak from a record 9-0 victory, with Sulanjana Raul opening the scoring in the sixth minute with a remarkable finish. The team maintained their aggressive play, creating numerous opportunities in the following minutes. Despite Nita’s efforts to regain possession, they struggled to break through East Bengal’s defense, resulting in a 2-0 lead before halftime.

The second half saw East Bengal’s dominance persist, adding to their lead with goals from Resty Nanziri and Fazila Ikwaput. The defending champions displayed clinical precision throughout the game, ultimately securing a convincing 5-0 win and maintaining their top position in the league standings.
