The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has detained Amitabh Jhunjhunwala and Amit Bapna, associates of industrialist Anil Ambani, as part of a PMLA investigation based on CBI’s ECIRs. Jhunjhunwala, a former director at Reliance Capital Limited, is implicated in decision-making processes at RHFL and RCFL.

Recently, the CBI filed a case against Reliance Communications Ltd (RCom), Anil Ambani, and others for allegedly causing a Rs 3,750 crore loss to LIC. The complaint, lodged by LIC, accuses RCom of fraudulently inducing LIC to invest in NCDs worth Rs 4,500 crore.

Anil Ambani faced questioning by the CBI over a Rs 2,929.05 crore SBI fraud case. The Supreme Court has emphasized the need for a thorough and timely investigation into bank frauds associated with Reliance Communications, urging ED and CBI to collaborate transparently.
