Eid-ul-Adha, also known as ‘Bakrid’, was observed with religious fervor and messages of peace in various parts of India. Security measures were in place to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations. In Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, tight police security was deployed, and authorities closely monitored the arrangements for peaceful festivities.
In Deoria, Bakrid prayers took place at the Malviya Road Eidgah with heavy police presence. District officials oversaw the arrangements to maintain law and order during the prayers. In Hardoi, a large gathering offered prayers at the Bilgram Chungi Eidgah, with residents expressing satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of Eid prayers in the city area.
Devotees in Gorakhpur and Noida also offered prayers under heightened security measures. In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari extended greetings for peace and communal unity during Bakrid prayers. Moradabad and Muzaffarnagar witnessed massive turnouts for Eid prayers, with authorities ensuring peaceful celebrations through security deployments.
In Delhi, a significant number of people gathered at Jama Masjid for prayers. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan also saw large congregations at mosques and Eidgahs for Eid-ul-Adha prayers. The festival commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as a testament to his devotion to Allah, with the belief that Allah provided a sheep for sacrifice in place of his son.
