Producer Ekta Kapoor marked 26 years of the iconic TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ with gratitude towards the team. She thanked actress Smriti Irani, the writers, creators, and Balaji Telefilms for their contributions to Indian television. The show, which aired in 2000, featured a notable cast including Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, and Ronit Roy.

Smriti Irani, in response, expressed her appreciation for the 26-year journey created by Ekta Kapoor. Actress Parakh Madan, who played Niyati, thanked Ekta for the opportunity to be part of the groundbreaking show. Ritu Chaudhary Seth, who portrayed Shobha, also celebrated the milestone on social media.

‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ was known for its family drama centered around Tulsi Virani and the Virani family. The show, a beloved saas-bahu drama, ran for eight years and was a significant part of Indian television history. In 2025, a reprise version aired with Smriti Irani reprising her role as Tulsi.

The show’s first season featured iconic moments, including the return of Mihir Virani, portrayed by Amar Upadhyay. Another memorable storyline involved Tulsi Virani shooting her son, Ansh Gujral, addressing issues like domestic abuse and marital rape. The serial also tackled euthanasia, sparking national discussions on the sensitive topic.

‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ was not only known for its compelling storylines but also for its iconic title track. The opening sequence, featuring Smriti Irani as Tulsi Virani, became a hallmark of Indian television.
