An elderly woman from Karnataka’s Davanagere, KB Karibasamma, known for her activism on euthanasia, has selflessly donated her life savings to the ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ corpus fund. Despite battling cancer and advocating for euthanasia, she handed over ₹10 lakh from her pensions, savings, and house sale proceeds to support fallen soldiers. Karibasamma’s act of generosity has earned her widespread respect and admiration in her community.
Karibasamma, who has been a vocal advocate for euthanasia, expressed her desire to give her savings directly to PM Modi but instead handed the contribution to the Deputy Commissioner. Her decision to prioritize soldiers’ welfare over her own health expenses has been lauded by local authorities and dignitaries. The District Commissioner and former MLC Dr. Shivayogi Swami commended her altruistic gesture and encouraged others to follow her example.
Deputy Commissioner Gangadhara Swamy praised Karibasamma’s longstanding advocacy for euthanasia and her generous donation to the Sainik Welfare fund. He acknowledged her commitment to the cause and highlighted her contribution as a significant support for India’s soldiers. Dr. Shivayogi Swami, recognizing Karibasamma’s selfless act, urged the community to draw inspiration from her noble deed and extend support to the armed forces.
