Elon Musk achieved the historic feat of becoming the world’s first trillionaire as SpaceX, following its record-breaking initial public offering, soared to a market value of about $2.1 trillion on its debut trading day. With SpaceX’s shares closing at $160.95, marking a significant 19% increase from the IPO price of $135, Musk’s ownership stake in the company surged, solidifying his status as the wealthiest individual in history.

SpaceX’s remarkable market debut, driven by Wall Street’s largest IPO, saw its shares climb by 19% on the first trading day, valuing the company at over $2 trillion. Musk, who holds nearly half of SpaceX’s shares, crossed the trillionaire threshold with this milestone, as reported by CNN.

The Wall Street Journal disclosed that SpaceX raised $75 billion through the IPO, initially valuing the company at $1.77 trillion. By the close of trading, SpaceX’s market capitalization had escalated to $2.1 trillion, positioning it among the most valuable publicly traded firms in the US.

SpaceX’s successful IPO not only marked a significant achievement for Musk but also highlighted the transformative impact the company has had on the commercial space industry over the past two decades. Founded in 2002, SpaceX initially faced challenges but ultimately thrived, revolutionizing space exploration with its focus on reusable rockets and securing pivotal contracts with NASA.
