The Embassy of India in Caracas has requested Venezuelan authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the reported desecration and removal of organs from the late Rakesh Chauhan’s body. The embassy has been actively engaging with local authorities on this matter since it was brought to their attention.
Rakesh Chauhan, an Indian seafarer who passed away in Venezuela in May, had his body repatriated to India. His family raised concerns about missing internal organs, which were confirmed during a re-autopsy in India.
The Federation of Seafarers’ Unions of India (FSUI) has called for a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances of Chauhan’s death and the handling of his remains. They highlighted the absence of vital organs in the body and demanded transparency and accountability from Venezuelan authorities.
