A fierce clash occurred between the police and a gang of notorious cattle thieves in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The confrontation took place within the jurisdiction of the Jait Police Station. Three accused individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange of fire, prompting their immediate transfer to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Authorities reported that a significant sum of money, illegal firearms, and ammunition were confiscated from the accused following the encounter. The Jait Police Station personnel were conducting checks on suspicious vehicles and individuals associated with cattle smuggling in the region when they encountered the alleged cattle thieves.
Upon noticing the police presence, the accused initially tried to escape but resorted to firing at the officers when surrounded. In self-defense, the police retaliated, resulting in a gunfire exchange that led to the injury of three suspects. The injured individuals were swiftly apprehended by the police team at the scene.
After the arrests, a substantial amount of cash totaling Rs 1,04,000 was recovered from the possession of the accused. Additionally, three country-made pistols, live cartridges, and empty shells were seized from the site of the encounter. The injured suspects were promptly hospitalized under police supervision for necessary medical attention.
Police authorities stated that ongoing efforts are in place to identify other members associated with the gang and delve into the criminal backgrounds of the arrested individuals. Legal procedures related to the case are currently in progress.
