An engineering student, Yuvan, aged 23, was fatally stabbed in Hyderabad’s Chilkalguda area for defying warnings against his alleged love affair. Yuvan, a third-year student at a private college and a resident of Jawaharnagar, had been in a relationship for four years with a girl from Indiranagar in Chilkaguda. Despite warnings from the girl’s family to end the relationship, Yuvan persisted in meeting her.
During a meeting on Thursday night, the girl’s relatives confronted Yuvan and attacked him, inflicting around 17 stab wounds. He was rushed to Gandhi Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. Following the incident, tension rose in the area as Yuvan’s family protested outside the girl’s house in Sitaphalmandi, demanding justice for the perpetrators.
The police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the case and are actively pursuing others involved. Yuvan, who had previously resided in Sitaphalmandi before moving to Jawaharnagar, became a victim of the escalating violence in Telangana, as highlighted by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao. Rao expressed grave concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the region, citing recent ghastly crimes, including the murder of a retired DG-rank IPS officer’s wife and the brutal stabbing of a young man in Secunderabad.
