Tom Banton’s unbeaten 63 and Jacob Bethell’s 32 guided England to a five-wicket victory over Scotland in the 23rd match of the T20 World Cup 2026 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. Opting to bowl first, England’s Jofra Archer made an impact early on, claiming two wickets in the powerplay.

Michael Jones and Richie Berrington steadied Scotland’s innings, with Berrington and Tom Bruce forming a crucial partnership. Despite a late push, Scotland managed to post 152 runs before being bowled out. Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer starred with the ball for England.

In response, England faced a shaky start but recovered thanks to a solid partnership between Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton. Banton’s impressive 63 off 41 balls, supported by Sam Curran, steered England towards victory. Will Jacks sealed the win with 10 balls to spare.
