Player of the Match Alice Capsey expressed satisfaction with England’s successful chase of 181 runs against India in the Women’s T20I series. Capsey’s impressive 82 off 43 balls, along with Heather Knight’s unbeaten 70, secured a six-wicket victory for England, sealing the series 2-1.

This chase marked England’s highest successful pursuit in women’s T20Is since 2018, following India’s competitive total of 180/5. Capsey highlighted the team’s focus on improving their ability to chase big totals ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Capsey credited the experienced Heather Knight for maintaining calm during a challenging phase after England lost three early wickets. She emphasized the importance of hitting through the line of the ball and praised Knight’s composure in guiding the team.

Acknowledging India’s strong bowling start, Capsey attributed her aggressive approach for regaining momentum. She emphasized using her feet and aiming straight to counter the bowlers’ lengths effectively, ultimately contributing to England’s victory.

Capsey, who has played in various batting positions for England, emphasized her commitment to contributing to the team’s success, regardless of her role in the batting order. She highlighted the joy of representing England and the significance of scoring runs for the team’s benefit.
