European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, criticized Russia’s allegations of Ukraine targeting its government sites as a deliberate distraction. Kallas emphasized that Moscow’s aim is to disrupt the progress towards peace by Ukraine and its Western partners, urging the international community not to trust Russia’s claims.
Major General Alexander Romanenkov of the Russian Aerospace Forces stated that Ukrainian armed forces launched drone attacks on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence from the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed all the unmanned aerial vehicles aimed at the presidential residence.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Ukraine of launching UAVs at Putin’s state residence, vowing a response to the alleged attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected Russia’s claims, labeling them as dangerous statements aimed at undermining diplomatic efforts and justifying further attacks on Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized the importance of not allowing Russia to derail the peace process.
