Event organizer Tanay Shastri has filed a formal police complaint against Bengali actress and former Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty. This action comes after Shastri spent time in judicial custody due to a harassment charge by the actress and is seeking a public apology along with the return of a Rs 2.65 lakh performance fee, citing reputational damage from Chakraborty’s alleged false accusations.
The complaint was lodged at the Bangaon Police Station in North 24 Parganas district, following a defamation notice served by Shastri two days earlier. Shastri expressed to local media his demand for the return of the performance fee and a public apology from Chakraborty, emphasizing the harm caused to his reputation by her actions.
Shastri also mentioned that he had to spend time in judicial custody due to what he claims are false allegations by Chakraborty. He stated that he seeks justice through legal channels and has sent a legal notice to Chakraborty demanding Rs 20 lakh in compensation or facing further legal action. Chakraborty has not responded officially to these recent developments.
