The 16th Hockey India Sub Junior National Championship 2026 in Rajgir, Bihar is gearing up for an action-packed finals day in Division A. Hockey Madhya Pradesh will compete against Hockey Jharkhand in the Women’s Final, and also feature in the Men’s Final against Uttar Pradesh Hockey.
In the Women’s category, Hockey Odisha will face Uttar Pradesh Hockey for the third-place position, while Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey will take on Hockey Punjab for the Men’s third-place spot. All final matches are scheduled for April 12 at Rajgir Hockey Stadium.
Both teams in the men’s final are unbeaten, having secured impressive wins in the semi-finals. Hockey Madhya Pradesh triumphed over Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey with a 4-2 score, while Uttar Pradesh Hockey defeated last year’s champions, Hockey Punjab, with a 6-2 margin. This year’s Men’s Final sets up a rematch of last year’s third-place match, won by Uttar Pradesh Hockey.
Uttar Pradesh Hockey boasts the top two scorers in the division, with Shahrukh Ali leading with 14 goals and Nitish Yadav contributing seven goals from penalty corners. Dhiraj Pal from Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey is also a key scorer with five goals.
The Women’s Final is expected to be a thrilling encounter, with defending champions Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Madhya Pradesh leading the scoring charts with 19 and 18 goals, respectively. Hockey Jharkhand secured a 2-0 victory over Uttar Pradesh Hockey in the semi-finals, while Hockey Madhya Pradesh narrowly defeated Hockey Odisha 2-1.
