The family of two brothers, Abu Bakr and Tohid, who were forcibly detained and disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, claims they are being coerced to take a political stance. The brothers were taken from the Khudabadan Mawach area of Panjgur on May 6 and moved to an undisclosed location, with no updates provided post-detention. Allegedly, Tohid is the son-in-law of a missing man named Zaheer, and his wife, Adeeba Zaheer, is linked to the Baloch Solidarity Committee.
Adiba Zaheer was reportedly pressured to denounce the Baloch Solidarity Committee and distance herself from the organization following the disappearance of her brothers-in-law. Despite claims that she held a press conference due to this pressure, no official statement has been issued by the authorities. Adeeba’s father has been missing since his detention by Pakistani forces in 2015, while another family member, Zeeshan Zaheer, was abducted and found dead the next day in 2025, as per the report.
The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department highlighted the abduction of two teachers, Abdul Hameed and Nasir Ali, from the Paroom region in Panjgur district by Pakistan’s Frontier Corps on May 5. These incidents add to a concerning trend of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the region.
