Five members of a family tragically lost their lives in a devastating road accident near Ladlapur in Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district. The incident occurred when a Cruiser vehicle collided head-on with a truck on the national highway late at night. The victims, identified as Tolusab Kashwar (27), Husain Shah (48), Maiboob Ali (45), Rasool Bee (42), and Fatima Ali (38), were residents of Ingalagi village in Chittapur taluk.
The family had traveled to Yadgir for personal reasons and were on their way back to Ingalagi in a Cruiser vehicle when the collision took place. The impact of the crash was so severe that the Cruiser was completely mangled, resulting in the occupants sustaining fatal injuries and bleeding to death on the spot. Upon receiving the news, senior police officials promptly arrived at the scene with their team to investigate and handle the situation.
This tragic incident adds to a series of accidents on National Highway 50 in Vijayanagara district on April 19, 2026, where multiple vehicles were involved, leading to casualties and injuries. Another recent accident on May 4 saw three individuals losing their lives and four others getting injured in a collision between a car and a sand-laden lorry near Gundlupet on NH 766 in Chamarajanagar district. Investigations are ongoing, particularly regarding illegal sand transportation.
