The family of Gade Sai Krishna, who went missing over a month ago and is suspected to have died in police custody, met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The youth’s mother, Vijaya Lakshmi, urged the Chief Minister to investigate her son’s disappearance and ensure justice. Chief Minister Naidu assured the family of a thorough and impartial inquiry into the incident and emphasized that those responsible would face consequences.
Vijaya Lakshmi expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s commitment to ensuring justice and stated her confidence in the process. She mentioned that Chief Minister Naidu promised a comprehensive investigation to hold accountable those found guilty. The family’s meeting with the Chief Minister followed a visit by former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who advocated for a CBI probe into Sai Krishna’s disappearance and alleged death in police custody.
Sai Krishna, a 26-year-old resident of Krishna Lanka in Vijayawada, was taken into police custody on May 9 for questioning and has not been seen since. His mother filed a Habeas Corpus petition in the High Court, leading to directives for the police to produce him. Chief Minister Naidu has initiated a probe by a senior IPS officer into the case, with the investigation now under the supervision of East Godavari district Superintendent of Police, D. Narasimha Kishore.
