Family members of a 24-year-old woman who passed away in a suspected dowry harassment incident in Greater Noida are urging for severe measures against the accused, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s intervention. The family claims the victim endured months of torment over dowry and is seeking justice for their loss. The victim’s aunt revealed that they were informed the woman had fallen from her in-laws’ house roof without further details on the circumstances.
The family alleges that despite spending nearly Rs 1 crore on the wedding and fulfilling various demands, the in-laws persisted in demanding additional dowry, including a Fortuner car and Rs 50 lakh in cash. The victim’s uncle suspects foul play, mentioning a pre-planned scenario surrounding the tragic incident. He also highlighted the victim’s severe injuries, as confirmed by medical reports, advocating for justice.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the ongoing police investigation, the family criticized the limited arrests made in connection with the case. They emphasized that the situation escalated from minor issues to fatal consequences, underscoring the need for a thorough inquiry and justice for the deceased. The incident occurred in Jalpura village, leading to the arrest of the victim’s husband and father-in-law, who have been remanded to judicial custody.
