Director and Choreographer Farah Khan recently disclosed the story behind casting actor Shreyas Talpade in her 2007 film ‘Om Shanti Om’. During a visit to Shreyas and his wife Deepti’s home for her YouTube channel, Farah mentioned spotting Shreyas at a gym they both frequented. She humorously recalled how she initially hesitated to approach Shreyas for the role due to his previous success in ‘Iqbal’.
Farah reminisced about the days of shooting, highlighting how Shreyas Talpade and Shah Rukh Khan often improvised on set. Shreyas shared an anecdote from the first day of filming when Farah had to intervene and ask them to stick to the scripted dialogues. Additionally, Farah mentioned that her husband, Shirish Kunder, recognized Shreyas from his minor role in the 2002 movie ‘Aankhen’.
Farah also revealed that Kangana Ranaut, before her debut in ‘Gangster’, used to frequent the same gym as Shreyas and her. She added that despite her initial apprehension, Shreyas proved to be a valuable addition to the cast of ‘Om Shanti Om’.
