Investigations by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have uncovered a larger plot involving the Faridabad terror module and the Red Fort blast case. The Faridabad module, consisting mainly of doctors, was a sophisticated terror group planning multiple bomb making factories and high-intensity blasts in India. The module’s plans were thwarted when authorities seized 2,900 kilograms of fertiliser meant for bomb making.
The busting of this module not only prevented potential high-intensity blasts but also halted their plans to establish bomb-making laboratories in various parts of the country. The group had intentions to set up manufacturing units not only in Faridabad but also in other locations across India. Lucknow was next on their list after Faridabad.
Dr. Muzammil, a key figure in the Faridabad module, had identified chemical shops in Uttar Pradesh for sourcing materials to prepare explosives. The group aimed to use TATP, known as the ‘Mother of Satan,’ for their operations. Their plan involved carrying out repeated high-intensity blasts at multiple locations, similar to the strategy of the Indian Mujahideen.
To execute their plans in Uttar Pradesh, the module members conducted reconnaissance at various key locations, including government buildings and crowded places. The NIA discovered that these operations were conducted between August 25 and 30 last year. The Faridabad module, linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), was dismantled in October 2025.
