A female Home Guard was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances at the Canning Police station in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. The body of 22-year-old Guljan Parveen Molla, also known as Reshmi, was found hanging inside a room in the station’s residential quarters. Her family has lodged a murder complaint against a sub-inspector of the police station.
The incident has stirred widespread sensation in the area. Guljan Parveen Molla, a resident of Uttar Moukhali area, went missing after her duty hours ended on Friday. Her family, unable to reach her, found her body hanging from the ceiling with a scarf around her neck in the police station’s quarters. The police rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion, and the body was taken to Canning Sub-Divisional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Guljan’s family has accused a police officer of involvement in her death. A complaint has been filed against Sub-Inspector Sayan Bhattacharya of Canning Police Station, alleging an extramarital affair between him and Guljan. The family claims that the officer murdered her to conceal their relationship. The deceased’s uncle has demanded strict punishment for the accused.
