The mysterious death of a female student from Jehanabad, who was preparing for the NEET examination while residing at Shambhu Hostel in Patna, has stirred a political controversy in Bihar. The delay in submitting the investigation report by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has led to speculation and allegations of a potential cover-up by the government. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has stated that a CBI inquiry will be initiated if necessary amidst mounting pressure and public scrutiny.
Amid various assumptions, Manjhi emphasized that the Bihar government is actively involved in the case. He mentioned that an SIT has been formed, investigating all aspects related to the deceased meticulously. Manjhi cautioned against hasty decisions without concrete evidence, highlighting the importance of evidence-based actions to avoid doubts later.
In response to demands for justice through protests and candle marches, Manjhi assured that both the Bihar government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are deeply concerned about the victim. He reiterated the government’s commitment to thorough investigation and emphasized that the truth will be revealed. Manjhi expressed confidence in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s integrity, stating that justice will be served to the victim’s family.
Manjhi concluded by stating that if the SIT’s findings necessitate an independent inquiry, a CBI investigation will be initiated without hesitation.
