Months after the shooting at his Juhu residence, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has reportedly been threatened by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding Rs 20 crore in extortion money. The threat, conveyed through an audio clip, warned Shetty that he would be the direct target if he fails to comply with the demand.
According to reports, the gang emphasized in the audio clip that the previous shooting at Shetty’s house was just a warning, and if he does not pay up, the next attack would be aimed directly at the filmmaker. Allegedly, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has instructed Shetty to pay the demanded amount to avoid further consequences.
The Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that Shetty’s staff discovered a 90-second audio clip on Saturday morning, believed to feature the voice of Shubham Lonkar, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi. Lonkar is wanted in connection with the 2024 murder of leader Baba Siddiqui and the previous shooting incident at Shetty’s residence in February 2026.
In February, gunfire erupted outside Rohit Shetty’s Juhu home near Hasya Kalakar Mehmood Chowk, with the Lawrence gang claiming responsibility for the attack. The shooter, Deepak Sharma, who was on a motorcycle, was apprehended in Agra following the incident. Subsequently, the Mumbai Crime Branch filed a 1,624-page charge sheet in April, naming 15 individuals in connection with the shooting, while Pravin Lonkar and Aarzo Bishnoi were declared fugitives.
