Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra, chaired a discussion on simplification of procedures, regulatory predictability, and leveraging digital tools for transparency and efficiency. The meeting, held in Hampi, Karnataka, included Secretaries of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, along with other key officials. Topics such as efficient fund flows, future-ready tax administration, and financing pathways for sustained growth were also addressed. Additionally, a session on “AI, Ease of Doing Business & Financing for Viksit Bharat” focused on using artificial intelligence and technology-enabled systems to enhance institutional capacity and policymaking for business ease. Sitharaman highlighted the historical significance of the Vijayanagara region and the need to address present-day developmental challenges, including low agricultural productivity and human-animal conflict. She also launched a Corporate Social Responsibility project to establish AI, STEM, and robotics labs in government schools in Karnataka.
