A fire originating in an electrical transformer in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar J Extension area extended to nearby residential structures, affecting multiple floors early on Saturday. Eight fire tenders were utilized by the fire department to control the blaze, with no casualties reported thus far. Fire Officer Rajesh Kumar Shukla mentioned that the department received numerous calls regarding the transformer fire, with the first call coming in around 12:45 A.M.
In response to the situation, four fire tenders were initially dispatched, but upon discovering that the fire had reached adjacent flats, additional units were sent to the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a slum area near Punjabi Bagh in New Delhi on Friday, prompting a rapid response from the fire department to contain the blaze and prevent its spread to nearby structures. No injuries or casualties were reported, and authorities are investigating the incident’s cause.
Earlier in the week, a significant fire erupted at a shoe factory in Delhi’s Narela area, causing alarm in the vicinity. The incident occurred in the Bhorgarh Industrial Area around 7:45 A.M., with firefighters working to control the flames amidst thick black smoke. Initially, 15 fire tenders were deployed, later increased to 24 as the fire intensified. No casualties have been reported, and officials are actively monitoring the situation.
