In a tribute to India’s farmers, the 72nd Fit India Sundays on Cycle turned into a nationwide celebration of fitness and sustainability. The event, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brought together farmers, stakeholders, and citizens across the country for the special “Annadata Fitness Ride.” The morning in New Delhi featured Zumba sessions, yoga zones, and interactive games, creating a festive atmosphere.
Key dignitaries like Ms. Anissa Nabi Jikas, Shri Krishna Kumar, and Shri Vikram Singh Farswan were present at the event. They emphasized the vital role of farmers in building a healthier and self-reliant India. Anissa Nabi highlighted inclusivity in fitness, stating that cycling is an activity for all age groups. Krishna Kumar mentioned that cycling is common in farms and villages, promoting both health and awareness.
Participants from various backgrounds joined the event, expressing their joy in celebrating farmers and a healthy lifestyle. Many found the experience inspiring, noting how fitness can unite people of different backgrounds. Fit India Sundays on Cycle is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with various organizations.
The ‘Annadata’ theme resonated nationwide, with fitness rides organized in different regions. In Haryana, a large-scale ride involved agricultural students, farmers, and university officials. Similar events took place in Gwalior, Bikaner, Ludhiana, and Dharwad, promoting fitness and environmental conservation. Launched in December 2024, Fit India Sundays on Cycle has become a popular movement, engaging millions of citizens across the country.
By focusing on farmers in its 72nd edition, Sundays on Cycle highlighted the link between health, environment, and those who feed the nation.
