Five people lost their lives, and 20 others sustained injuries in an explosion at a house in Sri Sathya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh. The tragic incident took place in Kummaravandla Palli village of Kadiri mandal, where detonators and gas cylinders stored in a worker’s house exploded, causing significant damage to the property and nearby houses. Among the injured, 12 individuals are reported to be in critical condition and are receiving treatment at a government hospital.

Firefighters and police swiftly responded to the scene, initiating rescue and relief efforts following the explosion. Investigations revealed that the house contained four detonators and the stored explosives were illegal. Home Minister V. Anitha expressed shock over the incident and emphasized the importance of providing the best medical care to the injured. She also instructed authorities to expedite relief operations and extend all possible assistance to the affected families.

Expressing deep anguish, Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu directed officials to ensure advanced medical care for the injured individuals. Specialized medical teams have been deployed to closely monitor the 12 critical patients. The district administration has promptly intensified relief operations and initiated a comprehensive inquiry into the storage of detonators at the site to prevent similar incidents in the future.
