At least five individuals, including a couple and their three children, lost their lives, and four others sustained severe injuries in a tragic road accident in Jharkhand’s Simdega district. The incident occurred on the Gumla-Simdega road near Agharma under the Kolebira police station limits. A total of nine people were traveling in a Scorpio vehicle when it veered out of control and crashed.
The passengers were en route from Lohardaga to Lasia to attend a family function when the driver lost control near Agharma, resulting in the devastating accident. The impact of the crash was so intense that the vehicle was left severely damaged. Local residents quickly responded to the scene, assisting in rescuing the injured individuals and transporting them to a hospital with the help of the police.
Preliminary reports indicate that among the deceased were a husband, his wife, and their three children, while four others sustained serious injuries. However, official confirmation of the victims’ identities and the exact death toll is pending. Police and administrative authorities promptly arrived at the scene, overseeing relief efforts and launching an investigation into the accident’s cause.
Simdega MLA Bhushan Bara and Zila Parishad member Josima Khakha visited the accident site, evaluated the relief operations, and offered condolences to the grieving families.
