One of Tamil cinema’s emerging talents, actor and director Pradeep Ranganathan, has spoken out against the police’s use of force on Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protestors at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. He emphasized, “Don’t answer questions with lathis!” Ranganathan, along with actor Dheekshith Shetty, expressed concern over the incident where police lathicharged protestors trying to march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament.
Dheekshith Shetty, sharing his views on Instagram, highlighted the importance of listening to the youth’s voice and understanding their perspective. He stressed the significance of education, stating, “Students are the future of every nation.” Shetty urged for a peaceful resolution, emphasizing the need for dignified and empathetic treatment of protesting students at Jantar Mantar.
Actress Anishma Anilkumar, known for her roles in Tamil films like ‘Sirai’ and ‘Youth’, also stood in solidarity with the protestors. Through her Instagram post, she emphasized the necessity of speaking up for humanity and ensuring every voice is heard with respect. Anilkumar advocated for dialogue, compassion, and understanding as the foundations of peace, urging for a future where disagreements are resolved through conversation rather than confrontation.
