Five individuals, four of whom were children, tragically lost their lives in Habibpur village, Muzaffarnagar, when a house collapsed due to heavy rainfall. The incident occurred late Sunday night, with two other children from the same family sustaining injuries and currently receiving treatment at a district hospital.

The victims have been identified as Islamuddin and his four children: eight-month-old Zeeshan, two-year-old Ahad, five-year-old Alshifa, and 12-year-old Rukhsar. Following the collapse, rescue operations were promptly initiated by the administration to extricate those trapped under the debris.

Expressing sorrow over the event, Uttar Pradesh Minister Kapil Dev Aggarwal visited the hospital to assess the situation. He mentioned that out of the family’s eight children, four perished on the spot, while the other two were injured. The minister assured that the situation was being closely monitored and emphasized the tragic nature of the incident.

The collapse has deeply affected the local community, prompting ongoing assessments of the damage caused by the heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh continues to experience active monsoon conditions, with widespread rainfall in various parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for the entire region, with rivers in the hill areas witnessing a rise in water levels due to continuous rainfall.
