At least five laborers were buried under debris in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district due to a sudden soil collapse during well excavation work. The incident occurred in Biharpurwa village, where seven laborers were working on digging a well in an agricultural field. Tragically, one laborer has been confirmed dead, while efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining four trapped individuals.
The collapse happened while two laborers surfaced for water, leaving five others deep inside the pit. The loose soil layers unexpectedly caved in, leading to the burial of the five men. The deceased, identified as Rajkumar Yadav, has been recovered, but the search continues for Chunnu Yadav, Ashish Yadav, and Chunwad Pal, with the fifth person’s name pending confirmation.
Rescue operations face challenges due to the unstable soil structure at the site, making it difficult to clear the debris. Despite the hazardous conditions, authorities and locals are tirelessly working to reach the trapped laborers alive, with concerns raised about safety protocols and oversight at construction sites in rural areas.
