Five workers lost their lives, and 12 others sustained injuries when a massive crane collapsed due to strong winds at a cement bricks company on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The tragic incident took place at the cement brick company in Mahalingapuram, Shankarpally mandal, Rangareddy district. Police promptly responded, initiating rescue and relief efforts, with the injured receiving treatment at a hospital in Shankarpally, where two are in critical condition.

The deceased individuals were identified as Ali Hussain (35), Nagender (30), Sajid (32), Mithun, and Sonu. Their bodies were moved to the government hospital at Chevella for postmortem examinations. Reportedly, 17 workers were present at the site during the accident. The crane, utilized for lifting cement bricks, lost stability and collapsed due to severe winds amid a thunderstorm in the area.

Senior police officials visited the scene, confirming the registration of a case and the commencement of an investigation. Simultaneously, a significant fire erupted at an automobile service center in Amberpet, Hyderabad, fortunately resulting in no casualties. The fire outbreak occurred at the Mahindra service center, prompting swift responses from firefighting personnel to extinguish the flames, which proved challenging despite extended efforts.

In a separate incident, a JCB driver met with a fatal accident in Hyderabad’s Gachibowli area while engaged in a structure demolition task. The driver, identified as Zakir, suffered critical injuries from debris impact, leading to his demise during treatment at a hospital. Law enforcement authorities initiated an investigation following the registration of a case in connection with the incident.
